Material reels

We source material reels of tissue paper from suppliers in China and Vietnam.

Removal of packaging materials from material reels

Material reels of tissue paper are protected by plastic wrappings to prevent deterioration of materials such as getting damp and dust. The packaging materials are removed by our staff  manually.

Feed into rewinder

Material reels of tissue paper are then fed into the rewinder machine by our staff.

Embossing and/or perforation

We emboss our jumbo roll tissues with Sunlight Paper custom pattern to enhance appearance and texture, and/or add perforation to our jumbo roll tissues with the aim of reducing usage by end users.

Winding, applying glue and quality control check

Tissue paper from material reels are wound and glued onto cardboard rolls, then wound to the desired length as programmed into the rewinder machine. The ends of the tissue paper are  then cut and sealed by glue, producing a tissue log. We conduct quality control check at this stage by visually looking for holes and tears whilst the tissue paper is being wound into jumbo roll tissue. Areas with holes or tears are marked out and these damages sections are discarded later.

Cutting

The tissue log is fed into the log cutter where the log is cut to the desired width as programmed into the log cutter, producing the final product, jumbo roll tissues.

Quality control check

All packaged products are subject to quality inspection by our quality control staff on sampling basis to ensure that they are in good condition and conform to the packing and labelling specifications of our customer. The final products are packaged into carton boxes to protect them from moisture, dust, dirt and pests.

Parent Roll Unwinding

Large parent rolls of hand towel (mother rolls) are loaded onto unwind stands. The hand towel is unwound continuously and fed into the production line.

Embossing and/or perforation

Add Sunlight Paper custom emboss pattern to the hand towel for improved absorbency and aesthetics. Hand towel passes through embossing rollers that press the desired pattern onto the sheets.

Tension Control and Alignment

Ensures consistent tension and proper alignment of the tissue. Sensors and tension control systems maintain uniform feeding to prevent wrinkles or unevenness.

Lamination

Join multiple plies of tissue for increased strength and durability. Adhesives or mechanical embossing are used to bond the plies together.

Folding, cutting and counting

Folds the hand towel into the M-fold configuration for easy dispensing. Folding mechanisms precisely fold the hand towel into the interlocking M-fold pattern.

Thereafter, the folded hand towel is cut into individual hand towel stacks. High-speed blades or guillotine cutters are used for precise cutting.

Quality control, and packaging

Counts the sheets and organizes them into stacks of the desired quantity. Automated counters ensure accurate stack sizes for packaging. Visual inspections, sensors, and automated systems monitor quality throughout the process. Packaging equipment wraps the stacks in plastic film, our robot arm places them in cartons, and the finished hand towel cartons are ready for palletizing.

Production efficiency

Modernizing the production line can lead to higher production speeds and improved efficiency. We upgraded our machinery so that we can further automate processes such as faster cutting and packaging, and optimized material usage.
